Book Bikemobile & Literacy Room
It's been 8 months since the Book Bikemobile hit the streets of North Minneapolis, a dynamic and diverse community. In partnership with Onyx Cycles we are bring community literacy to a new level!
Strong literacy skills are passed from generation to generation and are a piece in the puzzle of personal success. There are so many factors that influence a person's achievements, yet research shows that strong literacy skills are a foundational piece in the road to success. Our Bike Bookmobile allows for books to be in the hands of all community members. When children see adults reading, they become more motivated to read themselves. Our Bike Bookmobile is the first of its kind serving the Northside and makes the rounds during the spring, summer and fall months to Northside events. Please visit our site to learn more about community literacy and what we hope to achieve!
The Story Orchard
Brandon Brown heads up the amazing Onyx Cycles, and will be building our Book Bikemobile. Check out what an inspiration he truly is to all of us.
The Book Bikemobile is a huge success and we are ready to keep on going! We are looking for 100 people to donate $100 so we can create a community book room that will serve as our location for literacy activity. We can do this! Do you want to be part of it?
