My name is Nishtha Banerjee, the writer, producer, and director of Whispers of the Ancestors.

Whispers of the Ancestors is an Indigenous women-led documentary that brings together the voices of three women as they share their stories, cultural knowledge, traditions, and connections to the generations who came before them. Through their lived experiences, the film explores how ancestral knowledge continues to live through storytelling, ceremony, art, community, and traditions passed from one generation to the next.

As this film begins its journey into the community, I want its impact to reach beyond the screen. A portion of the funds raised will be contributed to Indigenous organizations, supporting programs and initiatives that serve Indigenous people and communities. The remaining funds will help create community screenings of Whispers of the Ancestors, bringing people together to experience these stories, share conversations, and build meaningful connections.

Through this fundraiser, my hope is to help the film travel further while giving back to the communities at the heart of its story.
