Burnaby city and BC housing has initiated a plan to build a 50 unit supportive housing and 10 unit complex care housing at 5389 Imperial street, Burnaby. The site is close to schools, day care centres, residential buildings and businesses. It has a direct impact of about 5000 people who work, study and live in the neighbourhood. Burnaby residents are strongly opposing the location of proposed site, and questioning the failed model of these housing allowing hard drug consumption. To help the people struggling with drug addiction the only way out is a rehab plan in a real rehab or detox centre. The raised funds will be used to support the necessary expenses like making poster, handouts, sign board, survey materials, print out for education, and papers to sign the petitions. Expenses to organize the protest including equipment rental, truck rental etc.
