Please help us to fight the planning application for the quarry near Barford and Wasperton.

 

Why do we need to raise more money?

 

Smiths Concrete have submitted their planning application for the quarry, following the Council's decision to adopt the Minerals Plan last year.

The planning application will be considered in due course by the Council's Planning Committee. We have one last chance to fight this by objecting to the plannning application.

We need your help to raise funds to pay for the expert reports that we'll need on critical subjects such as transport and air quality.

 What will happen if the quarry goes ahead?

 

The quarry would only be about 550m away from Barford school and playing fields and 100m away from some local houses. The prevailing winds that blow towards Barford will bring dust from the quarry, which carries risk of causing long-term lung damage, especially to the youngest and most vulnerable in our community.

 

There will be around 1000 extra lorries going up and down the already busy A429 every week. A new traffic junction will cause congestion.

Productive agricultural land will be destroyed forever.

 

We want do to all that we can now to protect our community's future.
