Hello from Takeley Street Action Group.
We are raising funds to oppose a major warehouse development proposed on land north of Taylors Farm, Takeley Street — a site immediately next to existing homes, countryside and a rural road used daily by families and children.
This proposal would introduce a large-scale industrial warehouse complex into an area that has consistently been judged unsuitable. It would bring round-the-clock HGV movements, noise, air pollution and light pollution, permanently changing life for local residents.
The site also lies close to Hatfield Forest, a nationally important ancient woodland and protected landscape. Increased HGV traffic, emissions and artificial lighting threaten not only nearby homes, but the wider rural setting and sensitive environment surrounding the Forest.
Many homes would face a 60ft industrial wall, replacing open countryside with concrete, metal and constant vehicle activity. Parents are already concerned about safety on Takeley Street, where children wait at roadside bus stops. This development would significantly increase those risks.
Why we need your help
The Takeley Street Action Group (TSAG) represents hundreds of local residents who believe this proposal is unsafe, unsustainable and in the wrong location. To ensure our objections are taken seriously, we have commissioned independent expert reports, including transport and highways analysis, environmental and noise assessments, landscape and visual impact reviews, and planning and legal advice.
How donations will be used
All funds raised will be used to help pay for independent expert reports, legal advice, and the day-to-day costs of running the campaign, such as website hosting, printing, signage and community communications.
Depending on how the planning process unfolds, we may also need to use funds to challenge any approval through an appeal or judicial review. This would allow us to properly test the lawfulness and evidence behind any decision and ensure our community is treated fairly.
This campaign is not about opposing development — it is about protecting homes, safety, countryside and Hatfield Forest from the wrong development in the wrong place.
