Charminster, a picturesque village in Dorset is under siege from housing developers and is facing a serious threat to its future.

We are concerned that planning applications are being steamrolled through without adequate consideration to the impact upon increased traffic, pollution, the strain upon school places, healthcare, the inadequacy of basic infrastructure (highlighted by the recent floods), the lack of employment prospects and the irresponsible and irreversible damage to the fragile ecological system.

The Charminster Action Group, comprised of local residents, was set up to inform and educate the local population of the issues surrounding the proposed over-development and to ensure that we have a voice in the future of our village.

We need funds for independent reports in areas such as ecological impact, traffic flow, increased pollution and sewage and flooding problems as well as flyers and banners to publicise our fight.
