Mobilisons-nous pour empêcher l'expulsion d’Amadou* le 19 avril. Amadou est un militant Sénégalais et la Commission de l’immigration et du statut de refugié (CISR) avait même reconnu que Amadou avait été arrêté à plusieurs reprises et subi de la torture au Sénégal en raison de son engagement dans un mouvement social et populaire contre le gouvernement de Macky Sall (au pouvoir jusqu’en 2024). Le Canada prévoit de l’y renvoyer, alors même que Amadou dénonce et s’oppose à la multiplication des détentions arbitraires, des actes de brutalité policière et de la répression sous le gouvernement actuel, qui ont notamment conduit à la mort d’un étudiant en février dernier. Amadou craint de subir les mêmes abus s’il était renvoyé.

Amadou a besoin 2300 $ pour payer son avocate pour faire les démarches visant à empêcher son expulsion.

En 2025, le Canada a déporté plus de 22 500 personnes, se vantant d’avoir atteint un chiffre record. Nous devons nous mobiliser contre la banalisation de déportation et la politique migratoire cruelle et mortifère mise en place par le Canada, qui va empirer avec l’adoption du C12 et le renforcement de l’Entente des Tiers Pays Sûrs.

Join us to oppose the deportation of Amadou* on 19 Aprii. Amadou is a Senegalese activist and the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB) even recognized that Amadou was repeatedly arrested and tortured in his country of origin because of his involvement in a grassroots social movement challenging the government of Macky Sall (in power until 2024). Canada now plans to send him back to Senegal, even though Amadou is highly critical of the new government’s use of arbitrary detention, police brutality, and repression, which led to the death of a student activist in February. Amadou fears suffering the same abuses if he is deported.
