STOP THE BAXTER-BRIDGE DEVELOPMENT PROPOSAL!

We are residents of the 60015 communities.

Bridge has withdrawn its proposal to the Deerfield leadership. A victory well earned, but the war is not yet won.

As we had anticipated, they are now taking their unhealthy, unwise and unacceptable proposal to the Lake County Board, and we are all still joined together and engaged in a fight to STOP THEM.

The impact of a proposal of any size or scope from Bridge is a threat to our environment, our safety, our roadways and our welfare. And it extends to the entire 60015 area. From Deerfield to Northbrook to Bannockburn and Riverwoods and Thorngate

We need everyone to again sign-up, speak up and step up to face this challenge. We need your voice and your presence in public meetings and the in-boxes of all members of the Lake County Board.

And, to fully activate, we need your support to raise funds to be used to obtain professional environmental, traffic and health impact assessments, and small items such as stickers, signage, flyers, press releases and advertising to build our defense.

By donating to this important cause, you will help fund the continuation of much-needed impact studies such as :

• Zoning and Valuation: An assessment of the impact of rezoning the Baxter site to industrial, evaluating potential loss of home values for residents and decreased property tax revenue to Deerfield and Riverwoods.

• Traffic Study: To determine potential changes in traffic volume, along with the impact of increased truck traffic on roads, safety, and congestion.

• Noise Study: The consultant will utilize sound detection devices to assess potential noise changes in surrounding areas including Thorngate, and Clavinia.

The above list will grow as necessary.

To date, consultants have performed and submitted evaluations, which have no doubt shown the data provided by Bridge to be flimsy at best and have played a crucial role in the recent reversal of planning efforts with Deerfield. Going forward, our experts will provide written reports, and oral presentations at any future public meetings with Lake County.

Through an HOA assessment, residents of Thorngate have financed specialized legal representation who will solely represent Thorngate in this fight. Those assessed funds have also allowed payment of retainers and ongoing costs to engage consultants requested by the attorney. Funds from this GoFundMe will be used in combination with those special assessment funds to help meet the consultant expenses needed to mount a strong, fact-based defense.

Together we can fight the Bridge project at all levels of local governance and achieve a successful outcome.
