Help Fund the Fight: Stop RePoly’s Plastic Factory in Moss Vale

RePoly (formerly Plasrefine) is appealing the NSW Independent Planning Commission’s (IPC) decision to reject their massive plastic processing factory in Moss Vale — a proposal that the IPC already deemed unacceptable.

Southern Highlands Matters INC, represented by Sam Wood is stepping up as a legal respondent in the NSW Land and Environment Court - defending the IPC’s decision and with Southern Highlands community support.

But legal action is expensive. We urgently need to raise $180,000 to fund senior legal counsel, expert witnesses and coordination of the full legal process — excluding barristers, for strategic coordination through the final hearing.

Why This Matters

If approved, this would be one of the largest facilities of its kind in Australia. It’s located dangerously close to residential areas, schools, the Garvan Institute of Medical Research and Sydney's drinking water catchment.

If RePoly wins, it could set a precedent for future plastic infrastructure right across NSW and forever change the Southern Highlands.

We’ve already secured top-tier legal representation, are tracking court developments, preparing evidence and coordinating experts — but we cannot do this without urgent community backing.

First directions hearing was heard on Monday the 4th of August in the Land Environment Court

UPDATED INFORMATION as of the 10th of August

14th of August members of the public or organization's wishing to register as either objectors or respondents must do so by this date.

18th of August another directions hearing is scheduled.

The Section 34 conciliation will follow.

And the final outcome will shape our Southern Highlands region’s future.
