Stop Racial Discrimination in College Admissions

My family never expected to be here.

We believed that if a student worked hard, excelled academically, built real achievements, and contributed to the community, that student would be judged fairly. Instead, after watching what happened to our son and reviewing an increasing body of public documents, policies, and statements from major universities, we came to believe that unlawful racial discrimination is still influencing admissions and related decisions in higher education.

So we decided to act. We are now suing four universities.

We challenge what we believe are illegal race-based practices in admissions and associated programs. These cases seek accountability, equal treatment under the law, and meaningful change for students and families who have been harmed by policies that should never have been allowed to continue.

This is not just about one student or one family.

This is about whether the Constitution's promise of equal protection and nondiscrimination means anything in practice. It is about whether universities can continue to use opaque systems, shifting criteria, and institutional labels to produce results that look suspiciously like the very racial sorting the law forbids. It is about whether families without institutional power can still demand transparency and fairness from some of the most powerful educational institutions in the country.

Our son, Stanley Zhong, worked extraordinarily hard. He earned top academic credentials and built exceptional accomplishments through talent, discipline, and initiative. After spending 10 hours interviewing him, Google hired him for a full-time position that requires a Ph.D. degree or equivalent experience, shortly after 16 colleges rejected him for undergraduate admissions. (More details can be found at https://sword.education.) When students like him can be passed over while universities continue emphasizing racial targets, diversity metrics, and identity-driven frameworks, families are entitled to ask hard questions. A year after asking these question and being blown off by the university officials, we are forced to ask those questions in court.

Litigation of this kind is expensive, time-consuming, and complex. Universities have vast legal resources. We do not. As of March 2026, we've spent over $200K out of pocket on these lawsuits. We are pursuing these cases because we believe the issues are too important to ignore, but doing so requires public support.

Your contribution will help cover the real costs of public-interest litigation, including:
  • court filing fees and service costs
  • lawyer fees
  • expert consultation and legal research support
  • transcripts, copying, and exhibit preparation
  • travel and case-related logistics

We are committed to using every penny donated to advance the litigation and the broader effort to expose and stop unlawful discrimination. Our goal is not revenge. Our goal is fairness, transparency, and equal treatment under the law.

We know this is a difficult and sometimes controversial issue. But it should not be controversial to insist that students be treated as individuals, not as racial categories. It should not be controversial to ask courts to enforce the Constitution and civil rights laws as written. And it should not take extraordinary courage for ordinary families to seek justice.

If you believe college admissions should be lawful, transparent, and fair to every applicant, please consider donating and sharing this campaign. Every contribution helps us continue this fight.

Thank you for standing with us!
