Stop Mario's Deportation

**En Español abajo**

Early this morning ICE  came to one of our supporter's homes and took him away as he was leaving for work. That man is Mario. For his safety and the safety of his family, and to comply with the wishes of his family we are only sharing his first name.

ICE showed no papers of a warrant for arrest or proper identification to say who they were. Mario is a hard working father. He spends every free minute he has with his son Kevin. Mario came to the US at the age of 17 to work so he could send money back to his mom that was ill. His family back home in Ecuador struggle financially because his mother has diabetes. The cost for medical care has put his family in deep hardship. Mario is an upstanding man and has never been in trouble with the law.  For the past 11 years Mario has been working at the Local in downtown Minneapolis. About 5 years ago he started working at Normandy Kitchen to help pay for his son's interest in playing sports. Mario just wants to continue to raise his son in a safe & stable environment with the only family and friends he has ever known.

We are hoping to raise $5,000 for an attorney to fight to keep Mario here in Minnesota with his son. At the moment, Mario is being detained and we need the $5,000 to cover his legal fees. If you could also share this Gofundme page with your family and friends and any amount that you are able to contribute would mean the world to Mario and Kevin.

We know that when we are united and fight as a community we can win. Please help us stop Mario's deportation. Thank you in advance for supporting Mario and his family. The struggle continues.

----
