STOP LOUD VEHICLES IN GEORGIA
Donation protected
Tried as we might we did not get our bill out of committee, but we are NOT giving up.
We made so much progress this year. Next January when the legislature reconvenes, we have a bill to start with, so we won’t have to go through those steps.
This is an election year so we will be determining which legislators do not have challengers. We can start working with those with now. Many days were spent at the state capitol attending session this year giving us a much clearer understanding of how things work there and who our supporters are. We will have to wait until November to find out which incumbents are reelected. But for those legislators without challengers, we plan to begin the “education” process this spring and summer.
This will require funding for printing, continuing to host our website, coffee/donuts at the capital with legislators and more.
In Georgia we can’t use the noise detection technology used across the nation and throughout Europe until a bill is passed in the state legislature to allow it.
HELP US stop drivers of loud vehicles (cars, trucks, motorcycles, ATV-4 wheelers, go carts, mopeds, etc.) – with modified mufflers, unrepaired mufflers, and those who purposefully rev their engine, play loud music, have PA systems or beep their horns unnecessarily, etc.
HELP US give Georgian the ability to live without noise pollution while walking in their neighborhoods, sleeping in their homes, and working in their places of work. This toxic element adversely affects the quality of life, and public health in the state of Georgia.
Noise pollution negatively increases stress which increases PTSD, high blood pressure, causes hearing loss as well as tinnitus. It can cause strokes along with heart attacks and it has a negative impact on other health concerns.
Sitting in traffic with the sound of these loud vehicles prevents other drivers and pedestrians from hearing emergency vehicles approaching and slows EMS to their destinations.
Please donate what you can to help stop loud vehicles in Georgia. Thank you for your help!
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
NO MORE DELAYS. IT NEEDS TO HAPPEN NOW!
To keep our costs to a minimum, we will be collecting funds through the Buckhead Council of Neighborhoods. This allows us to move forward without creating a 501(c)(4).
