STOP KOSA: Protect LGBTQ youth from censorship
Donación protegida
Hello,
We’re a queer women led group of artists, engineers, activists, and technologists fighting for a future where technology is a force for liberation— not oppression. As leaders in the fight against the Kids Online Safety Act and other bad internet bills, we’re ready to go in for the kill.
KOSA would censor free speech online, blocking many LGBTQ youth from finding the life-saving info & community they can’t access otherwise. One of KOSA’s own sponsors, Senator Marsha Blackburn, brought its problems into focus in this video that recently surfaced. In it, she makes clear that KOSA could be a tool for transphobic lawmakers.
Despite massive criticism from civil rights organizations and 300,000 actions taken against KOSA by young people and internet users, KOSA could still be passed into law. We care deeply about this fight, and we are going as hard as we can to stop it. Can you help support us while we do this work?
Your donation will support full time activists, including queer, trans, and youth organizers, as we battle to destroy KOSA. It’ll also go toward our activism, advocacy, and writing against other bad internet bills—and for the real Final Boss law when it comes to online safety: passing the badly-needed comprehensive privacy legislation that would actually protect us online.
