Support Paulina: Standing Up to Hatred in Philadelphia
Paulina was harassed in public by a far-right agitator known as Frank Scales who is affiliated with a group called Surge Philly. This group of young men has increasingly become a problem in Philadelphia targeting residents in public spaces and recording confrontations to push racist and divisive narratives online.
In Frank’s videos he often showcases the aftermath of provoking everyday people who cannot prevent him from filming them. These clips are then used to raise money and gain support from audiences outside the city who are misled into believing Philadelphia is inherently dangerous and its residents are the problem.
Paulina is not the only person this has happened to. Other women have been harassed followed and put in unsafe situations by Frank and others associated with Surge Philly. Paulina is simply the one who fought back.
As a result of this harassment Paulina is now facing job loss and potential eviction. The financial and emotional toll has been severe. Meanwhile far-right figures routinely raise thousands of dollars for people who openly use slurs and engage in far worse behavior without accountability.
This fundraiser exists to do something different.
We are supporting our sister. We are refusing to let someone who stood up for herself be punished for it. Every dollar helps Paulina stay housed stable and supported while she navigates the fallout of someone else’s reckless actions.
If you believe our communities deserve safety dignity and solidarity please donate and share.
Let’s show what support actually looks like.
