Howdy friends!
My name is Brandon Law and I am participating in a workout event to raise money to support those with cancer, those struggling with addiction, and first responder fitness via my own take on the 4x4x48! (See below)
This is something I have been wanting to do for some time now and cannot think of a better time to finally do it after the challenging year we have all faced. This fundraiser will be split equally between the three causes below that I hold near and dear to my heart.
1. Support for battling cancer- Specifically: Marathon for a Better Life- a non-profit that provides relief, support and financial assistance to distressed Schoharie County residents currently fighting cancer and in treatment + to one of my athletes in New Jersey who was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma to assist with medical bills, etc.
2. Little Laws Big Dreams- a non-profit my family started in honor of my Uncle Mike who passed away in 2002 that raises money for the betterment of the Cobleskill community via other non-profits. We decided to donate to Schoharie County Council on Alcoholism and Substance Abuse, Inc. this year as we have lost many friends/members of the community to addiction.
3. First responder fitness initiative- Our hardworking first responders need more help than ever right now. As someone who has been a part of this community for much of the past decade via the Air Force, Fire School, and as an EMT, I have seen first hand how taxing their roles can be on their physical and mental health, especially after a year like this. Funds raised will be used for equipment, training, fitness/health education, programming and more provided by my company, Laws of Strength. Some groups of interest are: 1) Union County Air Force DEP who we already work with and provide training/ education for a number of their recruits 2) Maplewood Fire Department which we have provided nutrition and training education to 3) Local police departments in which we’d love to provide programming, Jiu Jitsu training and more.
To make this even better, Laws of Strength will provide donators who give $10-$29 a complimentary 3 week training program while those who donate $30+ will get 2 months of programming free of charge (please email to receive training). Please consider donating towards a great cause or if you are unable to at this time, please help spread the word!
The workout event takes place April 9th-11th. The 4x4x48 I am doing is not the traditional format (run 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours). I will instead either be running, rucking, swimming, biking, training Jiu jitsu, or strength training during each segment ~1 hour every 4 hours for 48 hours.
Here is a chance for us to come together, help those in need, build up our communities, and spread love. I will be live streaming portions of this event (details to come) so feel free to jump in and train yourself for a portion of it! Time to kick ass for those struggling and for those who no longer can! & as always, do not hesitate to reach out for help with training and healthy habit questions at [email redacted].
Thanks everyone!
