Stones 'N Bones is Leaking
The Stones 'N Bones Museum has been a part of the Sarnia community since 1994 . We have grown from a small location in the Eaton Center to a two-storey museum with over 6,000 artifacts on display.
As you may have read in an article by the Observer in February, 2019, the roof of the Stones 'N Bones Museum has been leaking since last summer. The leaks are damaging the museum, and more importantly, are putting the artifacts at risk.
The museum lays out tarps, pails, and towels every night as a temporary measure.
The ceiling, insulation, carpet, and wall have been water damaged; they have been replaced, and repaired, three times. The roof needs to be repaired, but the HVAC system is on top and needs to be moved first.
The cost to install a new roof, and move and replace the HVAC system, is $80,000.
The artifacts on display are susceptible to water damage. If the roof cannot be repaired, some will need to be removed from display before they are damaged.
Donations will receive a tax receipt through email.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Jim Richards
