Healthy Groceries for Kidney Patients

Kidney patients struggle day to day with making the right food choices.  The COVID19 crisis has made this even more challenging. Many patients are now out of a job and trying to meet both financial and health needs. You can help provide them healthy food during this difficult time. StockMyPantry is a program that will match your donations to kidney patients and deliver a grocery gift basket (~$100 in value) to help them through this time.



Here are what some of these kidney patients are going through:

"It's been difficult. We've used Walmart's drive up service, and a friend has shopped for us once. I lost my job so our funds are very limited. And prices are going up."

"I have to rely on food stamps, and even that is limited. Sometimes I have to ask my girlfriend if I could borrow some money for groceries, not knowing exactly how I'm going to pay her back."

"I am unable to leave the house due to my transplant. I cannot drive yet as my incision is open and my immune system is totally shut down."

"Extra kidney friendly food would save me money I could use for medications and multiple medical bills I owe."

How your donation can help them:

"I have a family of 6 living on 1 income. We could definitely use help"

"Relieve the financial part and know that I would have food to eat"

"Not only do people need help with food, they need to be reminded they aren't forgotten."

How it works:
1. Your donation will be matched to a list of pre-screened kidney patients that have expressed their health and financial challenges during this pandemic.
2. Within 2-3 days after matching, an Instacart order will be placed to deliver a grocery gift basket (~10-20 items that are considered generally renal friendly ) to the matched kidney patient(s).
3. Grocery gift basket will be delivered via Instacart.
4. Once delivered, you will receive a thank you email and with information on how many patients it went to and which state they are in.
5. We encourage our kidney patients to share the impact of your kind donations anonymously and at their own discretion.

Any unmatched donations will go to the National Kidney Foundation.

Who are we:
I'm Winnie, a kidney patient for over 20 years and recently started dialysis. I feel fortunate that I still have a job and food on the table. I want to see how I can help other kidney patients during this challenging time. A team from my friends and family have joined forces to help out by creating StockMyPantry.
