From the Streets to a Safe Home.
This is Mosh.
From 2002 to 2008, he lived on the streets of Kampala, Uganda.
He knows what it’s like to go hungry, sleep on the cold ground, and feel forgotten.
One day, a local pastor and Canadian volunteers rescued him, gave him a home, food, education, and most importantly, hope.
That kindness changed his life forever.
Now, Mosh is doing the same for other boys who are where he once was.

What Mosh Created - Afrisole Creations
Mosh founded Afrisole Creations, a safe home and tailoring training program for young men aged 14–21 who have come from the streets and extremely tough backgrounds.
Here, they receive:
  • Safety & Shelter - A home where no one can harm them.
  • Three Meals a Day - Often their first regular meals in years.
  • Skills for Life - A 6-month tailoring course so they can earn an income.
  • A Fresh Start - At graduation, each boy receives a sewing machine, bedding, and starter capital to begin work.

Reaching Boys Still on the Streets
Afrisole’s doors are open to any boy still living on the street. Some are as young as seven. Twice a week, boys who aren’t yet in the program are invited into a safe, drug and alcohol free space where they can:
  • Shower and wash their clothes
  • Eat a hot meal
  • Receive basic medical care (wound dressing, malaria testing & medication, vitamins)
  • Get haircuts to prevent lice
  • Talk to a counsellor
  • Play sports and games in a safe environment
It’s a small moment of dignity that reminds them they matter.

The Afrisole’s Team
Mosh – Founder, mentor, and heart of Afrisole. Survived life on the streets and now guides the boys through counselling, training, and care.
Martin (Ice) – The first boy Mosh ever helped. Now mentors others to avoid the struggles he once faced.
Precious – Tailoring teacher with a Bachelor’s in Industrial Art & Design, inspiring creativity and skill.
Faith – Tailoring teacher and Afrisole’s secretary, keeping everything running smoothly.
Mama Jeremia – Beloved cook, currently unwell. Afrisole is helping cover her medical care.
Mumbejja – A resilient 17-year-old street girl helping with cooking while Mama Jeremia recovers.

From Meggy – A Volunteer’s Perspective
I’m Meggy, an Australian teacher and volunteer with Afrisole Creations. Each day I sit side by side with the boys, teaching them basic English, guiding social and emotional learning, and listening as they share their stories. In between their tailoring lessons, we laugh, learn, and talk about their hopes for the future.
I’ve been welcomed with open arms by boys who, despite everything they’ve faced, show incredible warmth, eagerness to learn, and endless curiosity, always ready with a smile, a question, or a new idea.

How You Can Help
Every contribution big or small can make a real, tangible difference in the lives of these boys. Your support helps provide: tailoring materials and equipment, medical supplies, soap, food, clean water, clothing, and even simple joys like board games, cards, and footballs.

Here’s what your donation can do:
  • $1 – Buys a secondhand outfit for one boy
  • $10 – Restocks essential medical supplies for a month
  • $20 – Feeds everyone for a day (20–35 people)
  • $40 – Provides sewing materials for 10 boys for a week
  • $170 – Purchases a sewing machine for a graduate, helping them earn an income

Sponsor a Child’s Education
If you’d like to make an even more personal impact, you can help individual boys, either those still living on the street or graduates of the program take the next step by going to school.

In Uganda, education isn’t free. School fees, uniforms, books, shoes, and a bag all add up, putting it out of reach for many. Sponsorship opens the door to learning, opportunity, and a completely different future.

If you’re interested in sponsoring a child’s education, please reach out to me (Meggy) directly and Mosh and I would love to chat with you about how we can make it happen.

Be Part of Their Story
Your kindness can help take a boy from the streets to a safe home, a skill, and a future.
