Steve Warburton end of life fundraiser
Donation protected
Hi, my name's Lee I am Steve's stepson,
Steve has always been an amazing role model to me. He's supported my mum through thick and thin and is always at her side. he took on two children when he met my mum and raised me and my brother as his own and we will forever be in awe of him for doing that so easily. Steve has run his own painting and decorating business since leaving school, he's always worked hard to provide for us all.
In October 2017 we found out that Steve had lung cancer, he had an operation soon after to remove the majority of his lung in the hope this would eliminate the cancer and stop it from spreading. After the next check-up we found out that the cancer had unfortunately spread to his lymph nodes and liver, he proceeded to have several bouts of chemotherapy and radiotherapy in the hope that this would stop/slow down the cancer during this time he worked full time to support himself and my mum. By the time his third check up came, Steve was already feeling unwell and knew in himself that it hadn't gone the check up confirmed his suspicions that the treatment had no effect on the cancer and that it had progressed quite rapidly.
Steve is now terminal and on end of life care which is heartbreaking for everyone that knows and loves him.
He is no longer physically able to work, his wife Linda left her job to become his full time carer. He is now unable to do most everyday things, and is having to take morphine to control his pain every day. Any savings they had together has now gone and they live off the bare minimum week by week.
I have set this up so that both Steve and my mum can try and make the best last few months he has. To put towards any medical care he needs as with end of life treatment the NHS wont help him they are only providing pain relief as part of the end of life care. We'd like to raise money to let them spend their last few months doing what they love most and to help towards any funeral costs once that day comes.
Thank you for taking the time to read about Steve, any donation would be greatly appreciated no matter how small, I understand times are very tough at the moment for everyone and if you do not have the means to donate just a share would be brilliant.
