Stevens horrible car accident.

Hello friends and family, many of you know Steven. On Saturday September 17th, 2022. Steven was in a horrible car accident. Those that know Steven- know that he is a caring father, wonderful friend, and a loving fiancé. He worked as a social worker/therapist for 6+ years and over 18 years in helping others in developmental and mental health. He like his fiancé have helped hundreds of adults, children and families through their own personal struggles and disabilities.

On the day of the accident, he was rushed by ambulance to the hospital where he was treated for a double compound fracture of both the tibia and fibula on his right leg, a broken nose, traumatic subarachnoid hemorrhage (a brain bleed) along with deep gashes, large bruises & a few burns from the airbags that deployed during the accident. He spent the first 2 1/2 days in the ICU where he recovered from orthopedic surgery, they performed on his leg to push the bones back into place along with the addition of plates, rods and screws. The brain bleed which they were keeping a close eye on, luckily did not get any worse. Doctors believe this accident was due to a medical emergency which will need it’s own level of attention for the future to ensure he is being given proper care and prevent incidents such as this.

While we are very happy and lucky Steven will recover, this event has left his family a financial burden during this difficult time. Steven will not be able to drive for the foreseeable future of at least the next year leaving great strain due to reliability of needing help from others such as going to doctors appointments, PT appointments, transport to and from work, losing time from work and ultimately the stress of paying bills that normally could be supplemented from side jobs. Absolutely any amount will help and be greatly appreciated. We are hopeful that by coming together as a community, we can assist him and his family to make things less burdensome to a person you know, would and does go above and beyond for anyone.
