Steven "Stevie" Taylor Cascarina McKinlay

Hi we are the McKinlay family and this is for our Stevie.

We would like to raise funds for a Memorial buddy bench and Funeral costs to give Stevie McKinlay, Age 9 who died on 30/09/2024 the amazing send off he deserves.

Having no previous medical conditions, Stevie developed a cough which was diagnosed by our GP as a chest infection. Within a week Stevie collapsed, due to cardiac arrest while having breathing difficulties and was rushed to hospital by his Mum and Dad.

On arrival at Hospital, Stevie had stopped breathing. Medical staff fought frantically to bring Stevie back but after four days Stevie was eventually confirmed brain dead. Whilst respirators continued to keep our Stevie breathing until 30/09/2024, Doctors now believe that Stevie died in his Mother’s arms on his way to hospital.

Specialist and Doctors have no idea why or what has caused this wonderful loving wee boy to be taken from his family.

Leaving behind a broken-hearted Mum, Dad and little Sister Clarke, Age 5. We would like to give Stevie the send-off that such an amazing wee boy deserves and preserve his memory by installing a memorial bench in the playground of Bantaskin Primary School, where he attended, and his sister and friends still attend.

With any funds remaining a large donation will be made to Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity and Stevie’s family to support them in their time of grieving and recovery from such a tragic loss.
