Steven and Kirsty wedding

Hi my name is Anna, my younger brother Steven was diagnosed with nodular melanoma around two years ago, (This is me and him above) he survived extensive surgery and intensive cancer fighting medication, however at the end of last year he found some more lumps and once again he had to endure extensive surgery to remove the cancer and he has strongly and bravely come through this ordeal.

This weekend we have been given the devastating news that it has returned a third time with two large tumors, and it has spread causing him lung and liver cancer. This time they are unable to operate or cure the cancer. This morning we have been to the consultant together as a family and they have said that he will be starting immunotherapy within the next week to try and slow the process down, at worst he may only have a few months left to live, if the drugs work he could have up to five years.

Which one it will be is unknown at the moment, but the side effects of the medications can also be life limiting and debilitating. We are currently preparing for the worst but of course hoping for the best. Either way he has a limited time left and at 38 years old this prognosis is soul destroying.

Kirsty and Steven have been engaged for several years but have not been in the position to be able to get married. I am determined to ensure that they can have a wonderful wedding while Steven is still well enough to do so.

I am hoping that we can get them married towards the end of the summer. If won’t be a huge wedding but every penny of support would mean the world to me as his sister. I lost my other sister very suddenly 12 years ago and I wasn’t in the position to do anything to help or make her dreams come true due to how it happened . This time I would like to ensure that Steven gets what he has dreamed of and we all have some beautiful memories to remember.
