Beste lezer, mijn naam is Renée Herman, 25 jaar en werkzaam bij Ubrands als Supply Chain Professional. Vanuit mijn functie optimaliseer ik werkprocessen in de logistieke dienstverlening.

Mijn werkgever Ubrands ondersteunt vanuit haar maatschappelijke betrokkenheid de stichting FloJa in Malawi (Afrika). In dat kader zetten mijn collega’s en ik ons nu ook vrijwillig in voor deze stichting.

FloJa Malawi is een organisatie die zich inzet voor de inwoners in het noorden van Malawi. Een van de armste gebieden van het land. Volgens de Wereldbank leeft meer dan de helft van de bevolking onder de armoedegrens. Malawi is een land in ontwikkeling, maar nog lang niet voor iedereen. Voor de allerarmsten en kwetsbaren blijft toegang tot basisvoorzieningen als middelbaar onderwijs, schoon water, sanitair en gezondheidszorg een probleem. Ubrands zet in 2025 haar expertise graag vrijwillig in voor FloJa. Daarom reist begin volgend jaar één van haar medewerkers naar Malawi af om de logistiek van de organisatie te optimaliseren. Er is echter nog veel meer werk aan de winkel. Denk hierbij aan:

• Renoveren van de klaslokalen

• Aanschaf van een nieuwe bedrijfsauto

• Onderhouden van de Moringa plantage

Omdat de gehele organisatie draait op vrijwilligers, is zij volledig afhankelijk van donaties en sponsoren. Hiervoor roep ik uw hulp in. Met een bijdrage kunt ook u helpen één van de doelen te bereiken. Elk bedrag draagt significant bij.

Na het sluiten van deze fundraising zal ik u uiteraard laten weten wat het totaal gedoneerde bedrag is waarmee we een verschil zullen maken voor Floja.

My employer Ubrands supports the FloJa foundation in Malawi (Africa) through its social involvement. In that context, my colleagues and I are now also volunteering for this foundation.

FloJa Malawi is an organization that works for the people of northern Malawi. One of the poorest areas of the country. According to the World Bank, more than half of the population lives below the poverty line. Malawi is a developing country, but not for everyone. For the poorest and most vulnerable, access to basic services such as secondary education, clean water, sanitation and health care remains a problem. These are the spearheads of FloJa.

Ubrands is happy to use its expertise voluntarily for FloJa in 2025. That is why one of its employees will travel to Malawi at the beginning of next year to optimize the logistics of the organization. However, there is much more work to be done. For example:

• Renovating the classrooms

• Purchase of a new company car

• Maintaining the Moringa plantation
