Just a short time ago, five-year-old Sterling was competing in a football tournament, celebrating his last days of Kindergarten, and playing with his two older brothers. In a moment, his little life changed as he was admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at BC Children’s Hospital and began a series of investigations. On June 26, 2026 he was diagnosed with Lymphoma.
While the road ahead will be long, his medical team is hopeful, and his family is holding tightly to that hope as they take this journey one day at a time.
Sterling is surrounded by a family who loves him fiercely. Right now, both Jordan and Kaylee have stepped away from work so they can be at Sterling’s bedside, learn about his treatment, and help him face each day - each test, procedure, and treatment - with courage.
Jordan and Kaylee are deeply grateful for the love and support of their family, friends, and community. They are not asking for help with medical bills or to cover their household expenses. Instead, this fundraiser is an opportunity for those who have asked “what can we do?” It is intended to bless them by easing the financial burden associated with the next two years of treatment, and beyond... to cover the costs that arise when life is suddenly centred around a child’s medical care. These might include transportation, meals, activities for the older boys to maintain a sense of normalcy, small comforts, and the unexpected expenses that will inevitably arise.
Our goal is simply to lighten the load they are carrying so they can focus their energy where it belongs: on loving and supporting Sterling, and Rhett and Auckland too.
Whether you choose to donate, share this fundraiser, prepare and freeze a meal, help with the older boys, or simply keep Sterling and his family in your thoughts and prayers, every act of kindness reminds them that they are not walking this road alone.
In the midst of their shock and heartbreak, Jordan and Kaylee’s hearts are also with other families walking a similar path to theirs. You might choose to donate to BC Children’s Hospital Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society which funds childhood cancer research.
Thank you for joining the community around them, surrounding them with your love, prayers, generosity, and hope.
