$2,702 raised of

Stephen's Reentry Success Fund

I’ve had the privilege of knowing Stevie for over 2 years, first meeting him through an Inside-Out class at Whitman College. Since then, I continued to volunteer with him at the WA State Penitentiary, where he served as Vice President of the Black Prisoners Caucus.

After over 20 years in prison, Stevie will reenter the outside community a free man. In light of the challenges he’s faced, he remains one of the most compassionate, hardworking, and loving people I know. Returning to the outside community after years of incarceration is incredibly difficult, especially with limited access to essential resources. All funds we raise will be transferred to Stevie to assist him in affording housing, food, clothing, the furthering of his education, and other basic necessities.

Please consider contributing to this fundraiser for my wonderful friend, Stevie, in his reentry and provide him with the support he deserves upon his release.

Hear from Stephen himself:

“Hello, my name is Stephen "Stevie" Boone. I appreciate you taking time to view my story of transformation. I am currently incarcerated in Washington state since 2004 at the age of 16. This journey has been one of growth and maturation. I entered prison as an adolescent and had to grow into the man I am today. It wasn't an easy journey but I've spent the last 20 plus years rehabilitating and preparing myself on this road to redemption, by earning my associate degree in business, important certificates in HVAC\R, Graphic Design, barbering and other interpersonal skills dealing with Anger management, chemical dependency, and Thinking for a Change. I’ve also worked with community organizations and the Department of Corrections in the field of Reentry, helping individuals to prepare for release back into the community. What I’ve learned is that not only is preparation important, but having resources upon release is just as important. Now that I've been blessed with my own opportunity to return to the community, I'm asking for your support to continue my journey so I can be successful with my own transition. Your support will contribute to my release planning – helping with essentials, clothing, toiletries, housing, transportation, food, schooling and any other financial barriers I will have after 21 years.
I appreciate your time and support and look forward to updating you on my journey of redemption. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Stevie”
