My son , Stephen and his family Jackie and their children , live in Washington state.
Stephen is in construction , Jackie, my daughter-in -law, is in the final stages of a phlebotomy prgram ready to graduate and take the licensing exam. They have 4 children: ages 10, 9 and 3 year old twins.
They were on their way to bigger and better things when the following hit them over the last couple of weeks:
1) The apartment building where they have been living for the last couple of years was recently sold and the new owners have given everyone in the complex until November 15 to move out.
2) The housing assistance for this type of situation was non-existent, until my daughter in law became an activist for the people in the complex.
However the assistance has only been granted to those without children. Those with children were told they have to go to a shelter before they could apply for any type of assistance. So now my son and family are on their way to being homeless within 2 weeks.
3) Just before all of this my son had been laid off due to lack of work at the construction company where he is employed. There are a couple of union opportunities in the construction field with many jobs on the board & they don’t have enough manpower to take care of everything. So jobs are open for him currently but,
4) The drive train rain of his vehicle broke (no current transportation)
If you please, any help that that you may be able to give will be very helpful for the family to get on their feet.
Thank you
