(This is a bit more detailed & updated story as the actual website hasnt been letting me submit updates)

My name is Cheyanne Kennedy , Stephen Gee is my partner. I've known Stephen my whole life , there is a 17 year age gap. However from as far back as I can remember hes been a part of my life from family friend , to friend to a love relationship.. We both had previous relationships that began about the same time & ended about the same time too, from those relationships we had children , lived our everyday lives and fortunately those relationships never worked out which resulted in our now life that we share together, and as rough as it may be the love we share for eachother I never knew existed until I met him . No matter what the outcome ends up I'll forever be greatful for whatever time I'm blessed to be able to share with him. I believe that he is my soul mate & he tells me everyday that he knows I'm his. Some may think it's cheesey, but after 10 years with a man that cared about everything other then his family and treated us horribly to a well raised, family oriented, hard working & honest MAN the life we shared prior to his cancer diagnosis was beautiful. Our relationship moved so fast, the minute i realized he was who i needed he moved in with my children and I... We were happy , our children were happy despite him sharing custody of his boys we blended & everything just fit, My childrens father decided after we separated he didnt want to he a dad anymore , stephen accepted the "step dad roll" and relatively fast it felt like he'd been a part of our worlds forever, he healed 4 hearts he didnt break without even realizing it.
Life was like every other normal combined family ... We both worked , Monday to Friday. A little time with my children that lived with us full time, bedtime for them then then We spent the rest of our nights together, weekends were always all about the kids.. then something happened that would change all of our lives , and it come out of nowhere and hit hard and fast.
March 7th 2025 will forever be one of the worst days of my life on that day everything changed ;
Stephen Gee who was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer.

Stage IV B(4) "Squamous cell carcinoma" of the LUNG with metastasis(spread Cancer cells) & metastatic (secondary tumors). (Lung, brain , ribs , pelvic bone, lymphnodes, liver , kidneys)

Here's alittle bit of a back story for those whom aren't already aware of his journey.
Stephen has been a self employed Carpenter for about 25 years, he's an honest, hardworking family man that loved to keep busy. He is the father to 2 bilogical children that are both on the autism spectrum, and has acquired the "step dad" roll to my 3 children, he worked daily Monday to Friday, taking his children every weekend by choice until about late November 2024 Steve started getting uncontrollable migranes , dizziness, weight loss & slowly loosing energy,
From early December to February we went countless times to the ER trying for an answer which lead to multiple misdiagnosis's until a CT appointment March 7th 2025 revealed a stage IV(B) Lung cancer , a 2½ inch brain tumor, metastasis spots on his ribs & pelvis.

March 13th consult in Saint john lead to scheduled surgery on the 18th to remove the Brain tumor as it was growing rapidly and the swelling was driving him litterly crazy.

March 18th they removed the originally 2½ inch tumor that was now 10 days later measuring at over 3 inches!
April 7th he began radiation and completed approximately 20-25 rounds , before first treatment we were informed that it had spread to the lymphnodes in his chest & his kidneys. By the end of radiation his oncologist told me they had all growth and spread "under control"

May 14th he had his first chemo treatment, which unfortunately didn't agree with him and 5 days later he was rushed to waterville by ambulance to find out he had high infection enzymes in his liver & the cancer had spread to the other lobe of his lung and now was in all 3 lobes of his lung along with now in his liver..and a "new spot" in his brain as well. The cancer had also started growing & spreading "rapidly" again, and now fluid in his lung.
His radiation oncologist contacted me alittle over a week later and gave me her opinion on a prognosis, which he doesn't want to hear and he still tries to remain positive.
June 2nd was suppose to be round 2 of chemo, despite his weight loss of 60lbs his oncologist still wanted to proceed. She put it off for a week, The 9th we had a telahealth appointment where even looking at his poor state she still wanted to proceed but pushed it to the 17th.

I'm not a dr , but after living it with my nan , seeing the effects , and then friends and some family also agreeing that he is in no shape to proceed until something improves I advised him to get an opinion from his family dr who happened to be on call the morning of his scheduled chemo, that morning we woke up .. went to the er & was instantly admitted as his blood pressure was high and his BP was over 170 , his oncologist still wanted to proceed but his family dr recommended it wasn't in his best interest with his current state.

Along with numerous other doctors, oncology & er visits , treatment appointments ect this has been our lives for the last 7 months. The side effects from his surgery, the medication he's on & likely the new spot of cancer in his brain make his life extremely difficult in so many aspects. I've been off work since March & I recommended he quit back in January due to not being able to drive which he pushed until he just couldn't anymore. He is currently trying to gain weight to continue with treatments but also unsure if he should with advice from his drs. We have no medical insurance so absolutely everything is out of pocket. My EI, which is our only " personal" income isn't enough to cover our bills let alone his medication, and diet needs, ect & we have had to rely on the support from our family, friends & the community which has had a tremendous impact on our situation & we thank each and everyone that has helped and got us up to now, because we really wouldn't have made it to where we are without you! Alot of hard has hit us lately , more so then cancer & we appreciate all support we get ❤️ Thank you from Stephen, myself & the kids
