On September 25, 2023 the community lost a great man David Fling. He left behind family, an infinite number of friends, and as he called her, his beautiful bride, Stephanie. Stephanie and Dave were together for 46 beautiful years. Anyone who met Dave quickly learned of his humor and care of others, each has a story to tell. He was a master farrier for over 40 years and a United States Marine Corps veteran. Anyone in the horse industry in the High Desert of California knew of Dave and Stephanie and their contributions to the equine community. Stephanie currently owns and manages a beautiful horse boarding facility in Apple Valley, CA called the Horseshoe Inn. When walking through the gates of the facility a wave of tranquility comes to all who pass through the gates. That is because of Dave and Stephanie and the loving people they are. I am a much better horsewoman because of both of their wisdom and friendship. They are and will always be family to me.

After Dave’s passing Stephanie needs the support of family and friends. We have come together in this time of grief to support Stephanie. We are hoping this go fund me will help reduce some of the financial distress that Stephanie is likely to face while trying to adjust to life without Dave.
