As many of you know 18 years ago the McInnis Family was in the fight of their life when Cindy was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer.
Stephanie found out she was BRCA 2 positive for the breast cancer gene and had recently been in talks with a doctor to do a preventive double mastectomy in the near future.
During her routine 6 month mammograms they discovered Stephanie has breast cancer. She has something called triple negative cancer which is a quick spreading aggressive form. She will soon be starting a long stretch of chemo followed by surgery.
Cindy was 46 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer and no one could have imagined Stephanie would be diagnosed before the age of 40.
The Mcinnis Family knows how to fight this battle and while we begrudgingly face it yet again…we know we have the strength, positive attitude, family, and wonderful friends to support us and our dear Stephanie.
Through all the ugliness we know faith can strengthen, friendships become stronger, and good things will come out of this.
We also know from experience this fight won’t be an easy one. We know the power of a village of family and friends can have. So please follow along and share as Stephanie faces this mountain though she prefers the ones covered in snow!
We look forward to this chapter of Stephanie’s life to be over so she can carry on with her adventures and get back on the slopes. Her happy place.
