Step It Up for Kitsap Challenge
Tax deductible
Hi, I'm Emmon, a children's librarian in Kitsap. Some friends and I have decided to take social isolation, and turn it into a challenge that helps to feed and support those suffering most in our community during this time of shortages of funds, friends, and safety. We've decided to run - in my case, up and down the 50 ft. of stairs leading to my apartment - to raise money for Kitsap food banks. We'll be hustling from Friday to Friday, May 15-22.
Normally at this time of year, I'd be seeing kids every day, and doing my best to make sure they're healthy and happy - and fed through snacks and meals provided in programs. I can't do that right now, but I can do this one thing - running in whatever space I have - over and over until we have fed our families. Kids and families in Kitsap need help, and we know not everybody can do everything, but we appreciate your gift of food, funds, and friendship when our community needs it most.
Donations can be made per mile (1 hour on my stairs; contact your runner individually for this option), or in gross payment - all donations will be divided between member food banks of the Kitsap County Food Bank Coalition. If you can't donate money, consider giving food, or any other means of support you can offer. Please note that proceeds of this fundraiser will be directed to the Kitsap County Food Bank Coalition for distribution to member food banks (listed below).
