Step into the night: A walk with a cause

In November 2021, our beloved Lucy made the heartbreaking decision to leave this world, leaving a void in our lives that can never be filled. She was an extraordinary, caring, and funny soul, and her absence is deeply felt.

As a family, we have dedicated ourselves to raising awareness about the pressing issue of suicide among young people. This commitment has led us to embark on a challenging journey called 'Step into the Night.' At 1 am on Sunday, June 30th, us girls will conquer the summit of Scafell Pike, England's tallest mountain, standing at an impressive 3209 feet in the heart of the Lake District. Our mission is to raise crucial funds and awareness for PAPYRUS, the national charity devoted to preventing young suicide.

Suicide remains the leading cause of death among individuals under 35 in the UK, with over 1800 young lives lost in 2018 alone. PAPYRUS provides vital support and guidance through their helpline, HOPELINEUK, offering confidential assistance to young people grappling with thoughts of suicide and those concerned about them.

We firmly believe that if every young person struggling with mental health issues and thoughts of suicide knew about the incredible support available, many of these tragic deaths could be prevented.
