Step Into Justice 5k

We are heartbroken. We are sick and tired for those and with those who have been sick and tired for the past 400 years. We are community members who have taken a step back and opened their eyes in the past few years, and especially the past few weeks, to our privilege.  We want to help make a change. An actual and genuine change. To put an end to the inequality the Black Community faces each and every single day and a start to justice while also being aware and cautious of “white saviorism”. We, as white people, shouldn't be thanked for using our voice and privilege to do and be better as a collective whole. This is not the “right” thing to do; this is contributing at the most basic level. People have been rampantly posting on social media but we, as a whole, need to remove our faces from behind our screens and do something (advocate, vote, speak up, be anti-racist in person and online, learn and listen). We acknowledge running won't end racism or systemic inequality but running with a cause and voice can shed light on issues that white people and/or people of higher status often turn their eye from. We are running for voices who were silenced, whose lives were taken away from us far too early, and for those names who were never seen across the media. We will be running/walking a 5K each and every week and raise money to different organizations each week. 

EDUCATE YOURSELF, FAMILY, FRIENDS. BE BETTER. LEARN TO BE BETTER.
