Right now, somewhere in a small town classroom, there’s a girl who is the only one. The only girl in the robotics club. The only girl raising her hand in chemistry. She doesn’t know that thousands of other girls just like her exist, because nobody has ever shown her. I know what that isolation feels like. As a little girl I dreamed of becoming a marine biologist. But somewhere along the way I decided I wasn’t smart enough to even try. I had no role models who looked like me doing the things I dreamed about. So I gave up before I started. I don’t want that to happen to one more girl. This past two weeks I watched 24 high school girls build and launch real satellites. I watched them walk in unsure of what they were capable of, and walk out completely transformed — believing they could do anything. That shift is everything. It is the difference between a girl who quits before she tries and a girl who becomes a scientist, an engineer, an explorer. But here’s the problem. Not every girl gets access to a program like this. Not every girl lives near a university or has a family that can drive her two hours to an event. The girls who need this message most are often the hardest to reach. That is why I want to bring it to them.
With a mobile outreach camper, I can drive directly into small towns and underserved communities — bringing hands-on STEM activities, real satellite demos, simulator experiences, and interviews with women already doing this work. I can show girls who have never met a single woman scientist that this world is not just possible for them — it is already theirs. This isn’t about getting every girl into a two-week satellite program. It’s about giving every girl the moment I never had — the moment where she sees someone like her doing something she thought was impossible, and realizes: maybe I could do that too. Your donation helps build that camper. It helps put role models, hands-on tools, and real possibility directly into the hands of girls who are still waiting to be told they belong. Help me reach the girl who is the only one in her class. Help me make sure she never has to wonder if she’s enough. She is. And together, we can show her.
