Steffes Family Hurricane Ian Fund

Hello, I am a friend of the Steffes family, and they have been devastated by Hurricane Ian. On September 28th, 2022 Hurricane Ian crashed through the state of Florida and destroyed the home of Walter and Lois Steffes. Lois and Walter have fought through rough times in their 50 years together. Let me tell you a little about them: During their 50 years, Walter joined the US Air Force in July of 1968, just a few months after their April 30th 1968 wedding. Walter was sent to Vietnam from December 1970 till December 1971. The couple raised five beautiful daughters, yup 5 girls! Walter and Lois spent their lives giving back to their community. Walter and Lois joined the Minooka Community Volunteer Fire Department in 1981, risking their lives to help the community. Some of the fires they helped with were the Minooka Lumber yard fire and the small town grocery store, where Walter severely burned his arm. They also assisted with a fire at a local Chemical Plant where Walter earned the Lost Sheep Award. In recent years they have been involved in organizations in the community they live in, such as the Veterans club, and they are Mr. and Mrs. Clause for the community Christmas party. Walter and Lois also taught their girls to give back by performing all-family volunteering at a local church while Lois taught CCD. Over the years, Lois and Walter (Wally) welcomed the many friends of their children into their home, and many of those children called them Mom & Dad. They are grandparents to 18 Grand Children 4 Great Grand Children and put them all before their own needs. Well, Wally and Lois need your help now. They need all the good faith they have put into this world returned in favor to help them get back on their feet after this disaster. Please consider assisting Wally & Lois rebuild their life in Florida. They lost their home and their memories and need to rebuild. Anything and Everything helps.
