Steel Bones - Sponsered Swim - Colin Phelps - June 2025
Do you want to join me in making a difference?
I'm raising money in aid of STEEL BONES and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
Hello everyone my name is Colin Phelps, I am 56 years old this year and I am an amputee. I have been one since I was a month old. Growing up I did all the things I wanted to do and had a great childhood but for the last ten years my good left knee has started to get very painful so I have had to change my life to suit my needs. I went from doing lots to not being able to do anything so I felt very low and depressed.
About 7 years ago I managed to find a charity called Steel Bones who are an amputee charity so I started to help out by volunteering, then I was asked to be a trustee and then became chairman for about six years.
Steel bones has changed my life completely!
This year is out tenth year since the charity started and we are doing ten different fund raising events to raise some money for our charity.
I have decided to do a sponsored swim to raise some money for the charity who has given me a new lease of life.
I am going to swim 200 lengths at Abbeycroft gym in Bury St Edmunds so this is my fund raising page and I would be very grateful it you could sponsor me. I know times are hard for everyone at the moment so any amount you can donate I would be very grateful
Many thanks
