Staywell Derby CIC Lived Experience Led Recovery

Staywell Derby is a lived experience led community interest company with a clear vision:

To support and build the emotional resilience of the residents of Derby City and the surrounding area.

To support and build community wellbeing.

Staywell actively looks to promote inclusion and tackle stigma offering a range of support and services around addiction, domestic abuse,  trauma, homelessness and mental health.

We use our own personal lived experience combined with tools like, smart recovery principals, CHIME to THRIVE and creativity  to help others begin and maintain their own recovery journey in a proactive way.

Put simply they just want the people of our city to Staywell.

Staywell Derby has been 10 years in the making, from the initial idea of our founder Jamie Gratton,  to create a fully inclusive space that would tackle stigma and provide an opportunity for wellness and recovery for all no matter their  background, race, religion or sexuality,  to it's current form with a fully fledged board of directors all with their own lived experience of stigma, trauma and mental health issues with its own building and a wellness café under construction.

We  just want all the residents of our city and the surrounding areas to stay well, physically and emotionally.

Staywell Derby believes that lived experience is it at the heart of recovery, Be that recovery in terms of mental health, trauma, addiction, or domestic abuse. The organisation brings people with experience of these issues who are in active recovery together with those currently living through these difficulties before they reach the point of crisis.

This proactive approach, with its foundation in lived experience and peer support,  is done through group support, one  to one sessions and  expression through creativity.

Currently Staywell offer services around prescription medication addiction, trauma, men's mental health and back to work skills for the long term unemployed.

Upcoming plans include support around binge and emotional eating, alcohol moderation management, overcoming childhood trauma, hoarding  and domestic abuse.

We are a very young CIC having set up in the past year in the midst of the global pandemic and yet in a short space of time we are already offering services online with much more planned in the wellness hub.
