My Happy Place Animal Sanctuary recently stepped up to save this emaciated momma and her foal. She is in poor condition. Both she and her foal have been through not 1 but 2 auctions in less than a week! First they went through an auction in NC. Then they were shipped directly to PA and ran through the auction 2 days later. That's a lot of stress during a heat wave for this starved mom and her very young baby and it has taken a toll. Mom was sick and they both required antibiotics.

They are now here in the Sanctuary, and the real work of rehabilitation has begun. They will be in quarantine for a little while. Mom really needs someone who will take her on a date to the hay buffet! Both she and the baby need a special diet. We are urgently seeking hay and feed sponsors, and well as donations for the many, many veterinary and farrier visits they will require, especially this first year. Momma is said to be only 6 years old and her baby is approximately 4-5 weeks old now.
