Rock and Skate Iowa is searching for start up funds to help us find an accessible, physical space that expands our weekly park meetups into a weather-proof solution. Our vision is to provide an all-ages third space that creates an inclusive community through the lens of self-motivational interests like art, music and non-competitive athletics without financial barriers. A recreational space that encourages you to live a little louder whether that is with an instrument, a skateboard or a media project that is community run. By providing workshops, access to materials, and hosting all-ages events at a sliding scale, Rock&Skate plans to be a steady resource for the surrounding communities. As of late, we have been working to build a board of directors, create a website, secure proper insurance, and file for official nonprofit status. With winter approaching, we are hoping to secure a modest indoor facility to keep the community active as we grow.
