Starting Point Solution is a ground roots, non-government-organization focused on supporting teenage mothers in Kenya to return to school and complete their secondary education.
Many young women in Kenya face immense hardship, struggling to complete secondary education, and are often unaware of their human rights. It is common for girls, often as young as 14, to become pregnant as a result of exploitation and assault. Men often offer sanitary pads, a few dollars, or food, to girls living in extreme poverty, in exchange for sex, resulting in teenage girls becoming pregnant and never completing their education. Many are forced to drop out of school, live in unsafe conditions, and face rejection from their families and communities. This cycle of extreme poverty, especially for women, is many generations deep and Starting Point is working hard to break this cycle.
Stacey is a twenty two year old Kenyan woman with a deep running passion and drive to help those around her who are suffering. She is a driven, intelligent, creative, kind-hearted woman focused on empowering young women to better understand their human rights. She has seen firsthand how teenage pregnancy, poverty, and stigma rob young girls of their future.
Stacey, the founder of Starting Point, currently supports the women practically by paying their school and university fees, purchasing basic supplies such as food, nappies, and clothing for the women and their children, and providing them with childcare while they attend school.
What funds will be used for
1. Food, clothing, and basic needs for the girls and their children.
2. School fees and learning materials.
3. Additional housing, beds and furniture.
We believe every young girl deserves a second chance. Your support will directly impact lives- giving hope to the hopeless, a home to the abandoned, and a future to the forgotten.
Any contribution, even as small as one dollar, can support Starting Point to plant smiles and change lives.
