Hi, my name is Ashanii, and I’m working hard to rebuild my life. After struggling with addiction, I made the decision to turn things around, and I’m proud to say I’ve taken a big step by moving into a sober living home. This place is giving me the structure and support I need to stay clean and build a better future. But in order to stay here, I need a job to pay my rent—and that’s where I’m struggling.

I’ve been given the opportunity to start working, but I need a few essentials before I can begin. Because I wear a size 17 in men’s shoes, finding affordable work shoes—slip-resistant and steel-toe—has been really difficult and expensive. On top of that, I don’t have the proper work clothes, which makes it even harder to start earning a paycheck and securing my place in sober living.

I’m reaching out for help because this job isn’t just about paying bills—it’s about proving to myself that I can do this, that I can be responsible, independent, and stay on this path of sobriety.
