Starting over after tragic fire in woodstock
Donation protected
My family and I are one of many that have been affected by the devastating fire that broke out on Tuesday night. I am asking for help for my family. Anything we could have salvaged, we were advised not to due to the chemicals from smoke damage because of my youngest son's serious heart condition (atrial septal defects.) Donations will be used to provide and relocate our family, replacing basic necessities and furnishing a new home.
My husband was at work when the fire started and I was home alone with my 3 and 6 year old boys and our two cats. There was so much black smoke I could barely see but I was able to get us all out safely from our 2nd floor unit because we lived right next to the stairwell leading to the exit. However, one of our very loved cats, Tom Tom, bolted out of my car in fear when I went to close my car door and ran into the woods. His collar came off when I was carrying him out. He is scared of loud noises, micro chipped, fixed, has all of his claws, and has a white patch on his neck under his chin. My family and I are devasted and heartbroken.
We have lost so much this year already with the recent sudden passing of my brother whom we are still grieving deeply. We are doing what we can to pick up the pieces of our life and trying to find our fur baby while comforting our distressed children.
My family and I are currently living in a hotel but only have 3 weeks to find a new home and gather the essentials of what we all need. I am a stay at home mom so our family relies on my husband's income. He has currently been out of work since the night of the fire helping me comfort our boys who are still traumatized of what we are going through and trying to find us a home.
Our family appreciates anything anyone can do to help us in this hard time. Thank you so much♥️
