My name is Amanda, I'm a member of American Heritage Girls Troop 1307 in Richlands, North Carolina, and I am currently fundraising for my Stars and Stripes Award service project. This is the highest award a girl can earn in the program and it will test her limits when it comes to leadership, planning, and faith skills. The project I've chosen is building American flag retirement boxes for our surrounding communities. This will provide our area with known locations to respectfully give our Nation's flag the retirement it deserves; as well as, giving the local American Heritage Girls and Trail Life Troops the flags they need for their flag ceremonies. This fundraiser will cover the cost of materials we need to build and paint these boxes as well as provide refreshments for the girls on our working days. If there are any unused funds, they will be evenly donated to the churches who so graciously agreed to have the boxes located at their facilities.
