My name is Mark, I am an ex heroin and amphetamine addict. I crawled out of the ground in 2005. I had no qualifications, no experience and no plan. I had no idea how to live. I had a dream to write a book which I set about doing. I reconnected with an old flame and married in 2012. I was just stumbling through life until I met a soldier who had been blown up in Afghanistan, we became close friends. Long story short he inspired me to be a better person.

In 2012 I started fundraising, kicking off with a forty five Mike run for help for heroes. Which was a complete success. So I carried on arranging and participating in multiple fundraisers including, Ben nevis, snowdon, the wolds way, Cleveland way generating over £60,000 for different charities that are close to my heart.

My last fundraiser is on the 1st August and I will be attempting to walk 20 ten mile circuits of Thorne and Moorends in one weekend. This time I am raising money for two charities that mean everything to me. Firefly Cancer Awareness and Support, and Star housing, support through addiction recovery.
