Update 1/16/26:
Thank you all so much for your amazing generosity! In order to ensure that we can handle the funds well, we're closing down donations. We will be working to disburse the committed $5,000 to our daycare staff, and have identified a handful of other daycares with similar needs in the Minneapolis metro area that will receive the rest. We will be working over the next week to send all donated funds directly to staff or parent leaders at each daycare to meet their stated and requested amounts.
In the midst of ongoing safety concerns for Twin Cities daycare workers, we are raising funds to offset missed pay or additional costs associated with the current climate for themselves and their families.
Many daycares in Minneapolis are closed, facing closures, or experiencing staff shortages due to ICE presence in our communities. Daycare employees fear for their lives and are at high risk of abduction when they are coming to and leaving from work.
We are raising money to provide relief for these employees in the form of grocery deliveries, taxi funds, and anything else they need to get through this difficult time.
The first $5,000 of this fundraiser will support our daycare, and everything above $5,000 will be distributed to local daycare centers that are experiencing this same issue.
