As many of you know, we were heartbroken to hear of the sudden passing of our great friend and colleague, Qantas LAME Greg Chimiak, on 9 April 2025.

While all of us are struggling to come to terms with this loss, none feel the heartbreak more profoundly than Greg’s beautiful family — his wife Megan, and their young sons, Bodhi and Jaxx.

As we share memories and recount the many adventures we had with Greg, we find comfort in our own families and in the time we still have together. Sadly, Megan, Bodhi, and Jaxx must now face a future without their husband and father. Their lives have been changed forever in ways most of us can only imagine.

Greg’s family has always been part of our community, and now, more than ever, they need our support. They need time to grieve, to heal, and to begin rebuilding their lives without the man who meant so much to them — and to us.

We are asking for donations, no matter how small, to help ease their burden. Your support will go toward providing Megan and the boys with some financial stability in the months ahead, allowing them to focus on healing without the added worry of immediate financial pressures.

Let’s honor Greg’s memory by being there for the family he loved so much.
