When we volunteer to help others, we never expect to find ourselves in a situation where we are the ones needing support. But that’s exactly what has happened to the Denmark Volunteer Fire & Rescue Service (VFRS).

Recently over the Easter weekend, our brigade experienced a deeply unfortunate incident — one that has left a lasting impact not only on the members directly involved, but also on the wider team who attended the scene, supported behind the scenes, and now carry the emotional burden of wondering if it could happen again.

While we were fortunate to receive immediate emergency support, those services are temporary. As the days, weeks, and months pass, we’re looking to the future — and to you — to help ensure the ongoing wellbeing and recovery of our VFRS family.

Your support will go directly toward helping our affected members and their families — the loved ones who selflessly stand behind those who race toward danger to protect our community. Your generosity will help relieve financial stress, provide space to heal, and allow us to regroup, recover, and return to doing what we do best: looking after the people of Denmark.
