Earlier this week, our family’s life changed in an unexpected and incredibly difficult way. During his green card interview, my brother-in-law, Enrique, was detained by ICE. He has no criminal history, and in just a matter of minutes, everything shifted for their family. While we don’t know how long he will be away from home, we are holding on to faith and trusting God that he will be reunited soon with his wife and their precious daughter.

With Enrique detained, he is unable to work, and my sister is now carrying the responsibility of rent, bills, and everyday expenses on her own. This sudden situation has brought emotional strain and financial hardship during an already painful and uncertain season.
