On March 9th, 2026, I received news that would change my life forever. This was the worst day of my life. I received a call from my brother, Frankie, who asked me if I heard from our dad. Frankie told me our dad left Sunday, March 8th, around 2:30pm to hang out with his friends and never came back home. After hearing this from my brother, panic set in.. my heart sank. I knew something was wrong. My dad would never leave and not text or call either myself or my brother for the rest of the day. This is when my work began. I went hours gathering information. I called friends, family, co-workers. I was desperate. Finally, 3 hours later, I got the answer. I was informed my dad was in a a motorcycle accident, only 10 minutes away from his destination in Dallas. The guilt I felt of being 4 hours away and knowing he was alone in the hospital all night, was and remains unbearable. He was rushed to Hospital where he received care being alert at first but then suffered a seizure. Doctors had to intubate to stabilize him. My dad is critical but in stable condition. He sustained multiple broken ribs and blunt force trauma to the back of the head. He has a skull fracture stemming from the back of head to his left ear and has suffered a traumatic brain injury. He is now breathing on his own. He is able to move his arms and legs on his own. Drs are hopeful but it’s still too soon to know what recovery will look like. I have faith that God will heal him. We are thankful for the continued prayers and messages from everyone. In saying this, I had to leave my home and my job in Austin until further notice to take care of my Father. If you feel in your heart that you would like to donate to help us navigate through this difficult time to help my father with bills, groceries, medication and transportation that would be much appreciated. We ask for continued prayers and sweet messages that we can show my dad when he is able to comprehend.
