- Late Summer 2025 my mother’s health took a turn for the worst. Shortly and very rapidly after she ended her Avastin following her success of beating ovarian cancer. Her cognitive and memory abilities started to decline. She started having episodes of where she didn’t remember or recognize certain details of things and or people. Forgetting if she took her insulin or not. Forgetting how to do stuff for herself. Then the non convulsive seizures started to occur. A stomach ulcer also occurred during this time along with other symptoms. Eventually Landing her in hospital for 27 days straight. where all her doctors (Oncologist,Endocrinologist, Neurologist and Internal Medicine doctor got together to hopefully be able to give some answers. However all of the multiple tests that were run ultimately came back negative. Which eventually lead us to getting a second opinion from a Neurologist at U of M. Since October My mom has since been at a long term care facility where we recently found out due to a full body pet-scan that it showed not only has her ovarian cancer come back but it also spread. This is both a very difficult and upsetting time for my family and I . My mother is set to start getting chemo again every four weeks (6 rounds in total. This time her doctor said that her cancer is incurable. The complications and side effects of the chemo itself are already pretty heavy. The doctor said we will monitor how your mom is doing after each round but at this time we want to extend your mom’s life expectancy as much as we can. (1-3 years) During this difficult time I ask for prayers for my family❤️
