Hello Friends and Family of Matt Wood!

Many of you have known Matt since grade school, or through his glory days of swimming at San Marino High School and the University of Iowa. Some of you have known Matt through his impressive art career. We all know that Matt has great passion for anything he does and holds friendships near and dear to his heart.

This last year has been exceptionally difficult for Matt with his wife Joanna’s extended battle with cancer, ultimately ending in her death. Matt spent his days and nights by Joanna’s side caring for her until the very end, and trying to survive on a few commissions, but also trying to do so managing his sorrow and grief. Time off from work and medical bills have consumed the savings Matt had built up.

Unfortunately, on top of all that and due to unforeseen deception, Matt must now legally battle to keep his home, which he tirelessly worked to pay off. He’s been put into a situation where his nearly broken down car is his sole asset.

Matt has always worked so hard, and will continue to work himself into the ground to try to right the wrongs in this situation. Every day is a battle against overwhelming grief and disbelief that he might lose the home he owns. We, his siblings, are trying to rally support for Matt, so that the current state of affairs doesn’t become more than he can bear.

Matt rarely asks for help, but he needs it. No contribution is too small, and will all be very much appreciated. All funds will go directly to Matt to keep him afloat and to cover attorney fees.
